12-year-old senior Taffy was found alone in a home after her longtime owner was taken to the hospital, with no one initially aware she was still inside. Animal control was contacted days later once it was realized she had been left behind, and while efforts were made to care for her in the meantime, she was ultimately surrendered and came into our care. She has since settled into a wonderful foster home.

Taffy is currently being evaluated for several medical concerns. She has multiple senior-related issues, including possible tumors on her paws, and her recent bloodwork showed several abnormal values that may be indicative of Addison’s disease. She is also anemic, which raises concern for potential underlying bleeding. As a next step, a fecal sample was submitted today to help rule out possible causes as we continue to investigate.

Taffy has adjusted beautifully. She is a happy little girl who is clearly feeling the love and care around her, and she is being exceptionally well looked after in foster. We are hopeful for answers and continuing to take things one step at a time.

Taffy is loving foster home life and continues to adjust beautifully. She is a smart girl who has already learned that potty breaks on walks earn treats, so she happily makes the most of each outing. She is a sweet senior, and we are so happy to see her thriving.

Taffy continues adjusting very well to her new life. After losing the home and person she knew due to her owner’s illness, she is now in a foster-to-adopt home where she is doing wonderfully.

4/21/2026

Taffy is a little confused by all the recent changes, which is understandable, but she is already showing a happy spirit. She enjoys being able to look outside and is beginning to trust her new foster family.

Taffy, a 12 year old puggle, officially joined us today and is now safe in her foster home. She is settling in and beginning the next chapter of her life surrounded by care and comfort.

We know many people have been concerned about the puggle who had been left alone after her elderly owner became ill and was hospitalized. Animal control in that municipality was able to obtain a surrender and ensured she was being fed, watered, and walked while arrangements were made. We secured a wonderful foster-to-adopt family

We know many people have been concerned about the puggle who had been left alone after her elderly owner became ill and was hospitalized. Animal control in that municipality was able to obtain a surrender and ensured she was being fed, watered, and walked while arrangements were made. We secured a wonderful foster-to-adopt family and planned to bring this 12 year old girl into our care on Monday. Taffy was safe and would be loved.
