Disco Updates

4/24/2026

Disco continues to do well after her recent eye removal surgery. She has been recovering comfortably in foster care, where she has received the patience and support needed during healing. Disco is scheduled to be spayed in about a week and, once medically cleared, will be officially adopted by her foster family.

4/2/2026

Disco presented with a urinary tract infection, so her spay has been postponed while she completes a course of antibiotics. Once her medication is finished, her urine will be rechecked and her spay will be rescheduled. She is otherwise doing well and settling nicely into her foster-to-adopt home.

3/26/2026

Disco continues to make wonderful progress following the removal of her ruptured eye, which has now fully healed. She is comfortable, thriving, and adjusting beautifully. Her next step is her spay scheduled for April 1st, after which she will officially be adopted by her foster. We’re so excited to see her happy ending right around the corner.

3/16/2026

Disco was a little shaky at her appointment today, but she did great while having the sutures removed from her eye surgery. The area is still slightly irritated and seeping, so she’ll need to keep her collar on a bit longer while it continues to heal. Once she’s fully healed, the next step will be getting her spayed. She’s making steady progress and we’re proud of this brave girl!

3/9/2026

Disco is getting comfortable in her foster-to-adopt home and soaking up all the love and care she deserves. She’s healing well, and once her eye has fully recovered she will be spayed and officially adopted by her foster family.

Disco came to us after being found as a stray with a ruptured eye. She was extremely frightened and skittish when she arrived, and it was clear she had likely experienced abuse. Our veterinary team acted quickly, and Disco underwent emergency surgery to remove her damaged eye. The very next day, she was placed into a loving foster home where she could begin her recovery.

While Disco is still learning to trust and does not warm up to everyone right away, something very special happened during her healing journey. One of the individuals who originally found her and called police to help get her to safety had been thinking about her ever since. They continued checking in with the shelter, hoping to learn what had happened to her.

When they recently came to visit, Disco immediately recognized the person who helped save her life and went straight to them. It was clear the connection was already there.

Disco is still healing and will have her stitches removed on the 17th. She will also have pre-surgical bloodwork done as she prepares for her upcoming spay. In the meantime, she has officially moved from her foster home into a foster-to-adopt placement with the very person who helped rescue her.

Thank you to everyone who submitted applications and showed interest in giving Disco a home. She has already found the person who helped change her life, and we are incredibly grateful to her foster for providing a safe place for Disco to begin healing.

Disco has officially arrived at her foster home, where she will continue her recovery in a safe and loving environment. Her foster family will monitor her healing and provide the support she needs during this transition.

Once she has fully recovered, Disco will be spayed and prepared for adoption. She is incredibly sweet and gentle

3/1/2026 POST-OP

Disco successfully underwent surgery to remove her ruptured eye. The procedure went well, and she is already more comfortable now that the source of her pain has been addressed. She is recovering as expected and resting under close supervision. We are grateful for the swift veterinary intervention that has given her a fresh start.
