rabies vaccine recall

(02/24/2026)

⚠️ RABIES VACCINE RECALL ⚠️

Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health has issued a recall for a specific lot of its rabies vaccine.

Recalled Product Information:

  • Product: IMRAB 3TF

  • Serial Number: 18665

  • Expiration Date: March 12, 2027

Vials in this lot may have contained sterile water instead of the rabies vaccine.

Pet owners whose animals received a rabies vaccination after September 29, 2025 should review their pet’s rabies vaccination certificate. If the recalled product was administered, please contact your veterinarian immediately. Pets that received the affected vaccine will require re-vaccination.

Veterinarians who received the impacted shipment have been notified by the manufacturer and instructed to contact affected clients directly. Please remember: Pennsylvania law requires all dogs and cats to be vaccinated against rabies within four weeks of reaching 12 weeks of age and to maintain current rabies immunity according to vaccine manufacturer guidelines.

If you have any questions or concerns, contact your veterinarian for guidance.
