our mission
At Delco Dawgs Rescue, our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and advocate for abandoned, abused, and injured dogs throughout Delaware County and the Greater Philadelphia area. What truly defines our work is the way it is rooted in the community.
We are a 100% volunteer, foster-based nonprofit with no physical shelter. Every dog we save is welcomed directly into a home, where healing begins in a real environment surrounded by patience, structure, and compassion. This model allows us to provide individualized care, but it also means every life we change depends on people stepping forward to foster, adopt, and support our work.
Our mission extends beyond traditional rescue. We assist in search and recovery efforts for lost dogs, working alongside pet owners and local law enforcement to reunite families. We also take in critically injured and neglected animals, connecting them with lifesaving veterinary care and long-term rehabilitation.
With the support of our community and trusted veterinary partners, we are able to say yes to the dogs who need it most. Giving them not just a second chance at life, but a path forward.
OUR HISTORY
Delco Dawgs Rescue has been serving the community for over 10 years. What began as a small group of dedicated volunteers has grown into a trusted, foster-based rescue organization rooted in compassion, collaboration, and community.
From the beginning, our focus has been on helping the dogs who need it most. Those who are often overlooked due to injury, illness, or circumstance. As we’ve grown, so has our ability to take on more complex and urgent cases, providing lifesaving medical care, rehabilitation, and a path to a better future.
Because we operate without a physical shelter, our work has always depended on the people around us. Our network of fosters, adopters, veterinary partners, and supporters has allowed us to expand our reach and deepen our impact, one dog at a time.
Over the years, we’ve not only saved lives but we’ve built connections. We’ve seen firsthand how rescue brings people together, creates purpose, and strengthens the community we serve. What started as a small effort has become a shared mission, driven by the belief that every dog deserves a chance and that meaningful change happens when people show up for one another.

our impact
We step in when dogs have nowhere else to turn. As a compassion-driven, foster-based rescue, we respond to cases of abandonment, abuse, injury, and lost pets in crisis. Often taking on the dogs most others cannot.
Through dedicated foster homes and trusted veterinary partnerships, we provide lifesaving medical treatment, rehabilitation, and stability for dogs who need it most. Many of the animals we take in require critical care, complex recovery plans, and long-term support before they are ready for adoption.
But our impact goes beyond the dogs themselves. Because every dog is placed in a home, not a facility, their healing becomes deeply personal. Fosters, adopters, and volunteers don’t just support the process, they become part of it. We’ve seen people find purpose, families grow stronger, and children learn compassion through the experience of helping a dog heal.
Our impact isn’t measured only in numbers. It’s seen in second chances, reunited families, and lives saved through the power of community. Every foster home, every volunteer, every donor, and every adopter plays a role in that impact; making it possible for us to continue saying yes to the dogs who need us most.
