Many companies offer matching gift programs, meaning they will match (sometimes even double or triple) charitable donations made by their employees. 

How It Works:

• You make a donation to our rescue.
   
• You submit a matching request through your employer (usually through HR or an online portal).
   
• Your employer sends an additional donation to us, matching your gift! 

Common Matching Ratios:

• 1:1 Match (Your $100 becomes $200)
   
• 2:1 Match (Your $100 becomes $300)
   
• 3:1 Match or more...
   

Some companies also match volunteer hours, turning your time into additional funding for the rescue.

• Sometimes spouses of employees

A Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is a tax smart way for individuals age 70½ or older to donate directly from their IRA to a qualified nonprofit organization. This option allows you to support rescue work while potentially lowering your taxable income. 

Key Details:

• You must be 70½ or older at the time of distribution.
   
• Funds must be transferred directly from your IRA trustee to the charity.
   
• The distribution is excluded from your taxable income.
   
• It counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD).
   
• Annual limit: up to $111,000 per person (as of 2025, inflation-adjusted).
   
• Eligible accounts typically include Traditional and Roth IRAs.
