Rocco is doing well and continuing to recover after having all of his lower incisors and a cracked upper tooth removed. He is healing nicely and becoming more comfortable each day.
Once he has fully recovered from his dental surgery, Rocco will be scheduled for his neuter procedure as the next step in his care.

Rocco is understandably groggy and not very interested in eating yet, which is normal after such a major procedure.
Despite everything he has been through, Rocco continues to show what a sweet and friendly little dog he is.

He has started his vaccinations and will see a dental specialist on March 11th to address the severe issues with his mouth.
Many of his teeth are loose or cracked, possibly from chewing on a crate or other hard surfaces. He will likely need multiple teeth removed and possibly all of his lower incisors, which is a delicate procedure due to the risk of jaw fracture.
We are hoping for the best for this tiny guy as he prepares for surgery.

One concern is that removing all of his lower teeth could risk fracturing his jaw, so the veterinary team will be carefully planning the safest way to proceed.

Welcome Rocco, who was surrendered today. He arrived very thin, with a broken canine tooth, ticks, and signs of mild anemia.
Despite everything, he appears to be a young dog, around 1 year old, and we are hopeful he will recover well with proper care.
Rocco was taken straight to the vet for bloodwork and a full medical evaluation so we can begin addressing his health needs.
