Autumn, now officially named LILY, continues recovering well from her broken leg surgery and remains on crate rest while healing continues. She’s feeling so good these days that getting a clear photo has become a challenge, with the only still moments happening when she’s finally asleep.
Her energy level and eagerness to move around are encouraging signs that she is feeling much better, though continued rest remains extremely important for proper healing. Lily’s foster family continues managing her recovery carefully, balancing medications, confinement, and enrichment while keeping this active little girl entertained during the recovery process.

Autumn continues recovering from her broken leg surgery and remains on strict crate rest while healing progresses. Her foster has been working hard to keep her comfortable, on schedule with medications, and mentally stimulated with toys, enrichment activities, and puzzle games throughout the day.

The biggest challenge right now is that Autumn is already starting to feel better and has plenty of energy, making it difficult to convince her she still needs to rest. While that is encouraging from a recovery standpoint, limiting activity remains extremely important to allow her leg to heal properly. Thankfully, she is proving to be one tough little dog and continues making steady progress.

Autumn was discharged from the veterinary hospital today following surgery to repair her broken leg. She is now on her way to foster care, where she can begin the next phase of recovery with rest, comfort, and close monitoring.

Autumn had her broken leg surgically repaired today and was all smiles afterward. Tomorrow, she heads to foster care to begin her recovery with rest, comfort, and plenty of love.

Autumn is a 4 month old golden retriever puppy with a severely broken leg that will require surgical repair using plates and screws in an effort to save the limb. She is currently being evaluated and will be re-assessed, with surgery planned early next week at a veterinary facility in Lancaster, PA.

Following surgery, Autumn will require strict crate rest and close monitoring during her recovery period, along with follow-up care once she is transported back to our area.
